Acceptable Use Policy
Asher is for parents and guardians to get ideas, keep a shared family Handbook and make plans together. This policy explains what isn’t allowed, so Asher stays useful and respectful for every family. It’s part of our Terms of Service.
What Asher is for
Asher is for adult parents and guardians to use for their own family. You can talk things through with Asher privately or in Family Chat, build a reviewed family Handbook and make family plans.
Asher is AI and can make mistakes. You are the decision-maker for your child and family. It isn’t a doctor, therapist, lawyer or emergency service. Our AI & Safety Disclaimer explains more. In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.
Protecting children
You may not:
- use Asher to harm, endanger, exploit or abuse a child, or to seek guidance intended to do so;
- create, request or share any content that sexualizes a minor;
- let a child use Asher directly or through your account; or
- add information about a child you aren’t a parent or legal guardian of, or otherwise authorized to manage.
Respecting other people
You may not:
- use Asher to harass, threaten, intimidate or control anyone, including the other adult in your family;
- use Asher to secretly track, monitor or surveil a person without a lawful basis;
- share information about other people that you don’t have the right to share;
- use Asher for anything illegal, or to create illegal content; or
- use Asher to create or distribute content that infringes someone else’s intellectual property, such as reproducing copyrighted text or lyrics, making shareable or commercial works from protected characters or brands, or presenting generated content as official or licensed.
Family spaces and private chats
You may not:
- try to access, read, search, export or infer another family’s information;
- try to access the other adult’s Private Ask conversations, including by using their device or account without permission;
- misrepresent your identity, your age or your parent or guardian status;
- share account access outside the supported family setup of one owner and one invited adult; or
- sell, resell or rent access to Asher.
Using AI features honestly
You may not:
- try to get around Asher’s safety controls, including through prompt injection, jailbreaks or instructions hidden in content you add;
- try to make Asher produce harmful or policy-breaking output;
- try to extract Asher’s underlying models, prompts or data;
- try to get around usage limits, rate limits or subscription entitlements; or
- present Asher’s responses to others as professional medical, mental-health or legal advice.
Public cards
Public links to Handbook cards aren’t available yet. When they are, these rules apply.
Where public sharing is available, anyone with a card’s link can view it. When you share a card publicly, you may not include:
- children’s names or other details that could identify a child or your family, such as schools, locations or health information;
- private information about another person without their permission; or
- spam, misleading links or content that breaks this policy.
Remove these before you share. Asher’s checks may not catch everything.
Connected services
Only connect calendar accounts you own or are authorized to use, and only forward email you’re allowed to share with the other adult in your family. You may not use connected features to access someone else’s email or calendar, and you must follow the terms of the services you connect. Connecting an email account isn’t available yet. The Terms of Service explain how connected services work.
Keeping Asher running
You may not:
- interfere with Asher’s security or availability, or try to get into systems or accounts you aren’t authorized to access;
- use bots or scripts to access Asher in ways it doesn’t support, or to overload it; or
- reverse engineer, scrape or copy Asher, or build competing datasets from it, except where the law allows.
If you think you’ve found a security problem, please tell us at [email protected].
If the rules are broken
Depending on what happened, we may:
- give a warning;
- limit features, including AI features;
- remove or disable a public card;
- suspend an account or family space; or
- end access to Asher.
When we suspend normal use, we’ll aim to keep access to support, data export and account deletion where the law makes that appropriate. We may also preserve or share information when the law requires it, or to protect someone from serious harm, as our Privacy Policy describes. Our Trust & Safety page explains more about how we approach this.
Reporting a problem
In the app, tap Report an issue with this response on an Asher response, or Report an issue with this Handbook note on a note Asher wrote on a Handbook card. To report a Plans suggestion, a suggestion from forwarded email or the digest, email [email protected]. Where public sharing is available, anyone can report a public card using Report this card on the card’s page. You can also email us about anything else.
We review reports, but we can’t promise a specific response time or outcome. Reporting tools and support aren’t monitored for emergencies. If anyone may be in danger, call 911 or your local emergency number.
